Posting rules

LOCALA works because people trust what they see. Listings that break these rules are hidden, and repeat or serious breaks get the account banned.

Every listing must

• Be a real item, service or deal that you own or offer yourself, available in Kannur district.
• Have at least one photo, for items. Use your own photos of the actual item (or your own work, for services).
• Show the true price. A deal's "usual price" must be the price you really charge normally.
• Be in the right category and place.
• Be posted once. Don't post the same thing again and again; renew it instead.

Jobs

• Post only real openings you are hiring for yourself, or for your own business, in Kannur district.
• Never ask the person applying for money: no registration, training, uniform or deposit fees.
• Give the honest pay and hours. Mark the job as filled once you have found someone.
• Use the CVs people send you only to hire for that job. Don't share them or use them for anything else.
• Don't turn people away because of religion, caste or community.

Not allowed

• Drugs, medicines that need a prescription, and anything to do with drug use.
• Alcohol and tobacco products.
• Weapons, ammunition, explosives and fireworks.
• Wild animals, or their parts, protected under the Wildlife Protection Act.
• Stolen goods, fake or copied brands, pirated software, films or books.
• Lottery tickets, gambling, betting, chit funds, loans and "earn money from home" schemes.
• Adult content, dating or escort services.
• Government documents, ID cards, SIM cards, or personal data.
• Jobs that ask the applicant to pay a fee.
• Anything illegal in India or Kerala.

Behaviour

• No abuse, threats, hate speech or harassment, in listings or chats.
• No asking for advance payment from people you haven't met, and no fake payment screenshots.
• No links to other sites to take buyers away from LOCALA.

Automatic checks

Listings with offensive words can't be posted. Every new photo is checked automatically, and a listing with a photo that looks like nudity or an offensive gesture or symbol is hidden until our team looks at it.

Businesses

Businesses on LOCALA follow everything above, and also:

• The business must be real, run by you, and open at the address you give. Our team checks every new business before it goes live.
• Add a real photo of the front of your business, with the name board if you can, and keep your opening hours correct.
• No alcohol (including from off-licences and bars), tobacco or vaping products, or medicines that need a prescription.
• Food businesses, restaurants and home kitchens must show a valid FSSAI licence or registration number.
• Prices on your business page must be the prices you charge. Keep stock up to date and mark items out of stock. Leave the price blank ("Price from business") only for items priced by weight or by the day, and charge a fair price when you add it to the order.
• Accept or decline each order quickly, and tell the customer if something changes. Orders not answered within 6 hours are cancelled automatically.
• Customers pay you directly. Any UPI ID or QR code you add must be your business's own, and mark an order paid only when the money has arrived.
• Use customers' phone numbers and addresses only for their order.
